The Labels Blogfest Designer Dress Up - Lahore Edition!

I was so pleased to see that our idea was taken to Lahore by Anum Akram and done in style! Not only that - but it has already received lots of social media coverage.

The concept of course was the same; playing dress up with the designers. The bloggers and journalists got a chance to dress up in the designers newest collections,  get their make up done (by make up artist/stylist Asma Mumtaz of The Dresser) and take a whole bunch of fun pictures! Showing the world what real people look like in designers clothes. The event took place at Khadija Shah's (of Elan) residence.

The designers participating were: Elan by Khadija Shah, Ayesha Khurram, House of Design by Nasreen Shaikh and Sadaf Khan of Silk by Fawad Khan (Whose collection by the way has not been seen prior to this!).

The bloggers and journalists included: Amara Javed (Pink255), Meher Tareen and Samina Khan of Paper magazine (StyleOnPaper blog),  Amna Salman (StyleStripped) and Shehrbano Taseer of Sunday Times. Some other beautiful ladies were also participating in this glam dress up session!

How fun!!!

Event: Toni&Guy Salon, Karachi and Pond's Skin Centre Collaboration

On the 17th of December 2012, two of my favourite brands collaborated. The outcome was the Toni&Guy Salon and Pond's Skin Centre flagship stores in Dolmen City Mall!. Two leading brands in one exclusive space. They were/are side by side at 'The Forum' but this is so much better - and what a luxurious place it is!. Do you remember reading about the Pond's bloggers meet from back in April? I remember getting a facial, whilst the other bloggers and journalists got mani/pedi's and then we were taken over to the Toni&Guy salon to get our hair/make up done. Well that is exactly what the Toni&Guy salon and Ponds Skin Centre will be offering - hair, nails and beauty services.

I attended the launch, and I was very impressed with the way the place was done up (Architect Tariq Qaiser never fails to impress!) and the way Saeeda Mandviwalla (CEO of Toni&Guy, Karachi) took everyone through the whole salon - the highlight seemed to be the massages, haha!

What I found amazing was that despite the brands having two different personas and branding styles, the outcome was so complimentary. Pond's had it's Pond's touch with a little bit of rebranding - more use of the colour red (to go with the Age Miracle range) as opposed to pink - and of course Toni&Guy was black and white all the way.

Francis Campbell attended, who is the British Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan. He thought it was remarkable to see two 'British' brands partnering up with each other in an environment such as Pakistan, which he termed "lucrative". Many other well known guests and fashionistas attended the event as well.

Enough text, time for pictures:

When will you be heading over to the Toni&Guy and Pond's stores?

Ensemble Du Jour: Studs and Fur

...and leather trimmings..

I have been getting requests to post more outfit pictures (with proper backgrounds, not my rushed closet ones) and make up descriptions - so that is exactly what I am going to do. This requires a little more effort, so an 'Ensemble du Jour' may not actually be from the same day...

What I'm wearing: Sass and Bide studded leggings/pants, Tea and Toast top, Zara fur vest with leather trimming, Valley Girl necklace (I love this piece - it is the perfect statement necklace), Urban Soul shoes (Aussie brands minus Zara) and Zagliani clutch.

Make up: Mac foundation in NC25, under the concealer: TV stick in 508. On top: Mac mini tube concealer NW25 and  Revlon photo ready 3. Lipstick is Bobbi Brown shade no 6 'Rose' with Illamasqua lipstick in 'Brink' on top. Blush is Illamasqua called 'Tremble', no eyeshadow as such have just highlighted my brow bone with this Hello Kitty brand I found in Priceline Australia in gold. Dabbed light pressed powder on top which is Chanel 30 Naturel - Translucent 2. Mascaras can be seen below and eyeliner is Rimmel. Nail polish is 'double decker red' by Rimmel as well - this is my all time favourite shade and I usually always have it on, unless I feel like being adventurous.

Feedback is greatly appreciated, so do continue to tell me what you would like to see more/less of.

ARSAZI: Embellished Bow Ties

I am sooo excited to announce that the Arsazi S/S'13 bow tie collection will be launching shortly on www.arsazi.com

For the first time ever in fashion; Arsazi introduces an exclusive range of embellished bow ties for men and women.

I have worn a bow tie from this collection before to FPW4 - Day 2, so you can backtrack (on BFB) to get a small preview of what is yet to come! I've been working on this collection for almost a year now, so it is very dear to me and I have put a lot of blood and sweat into ensuring it is something that has never been seen before!
