Le Femme Du Nuit

Hello world wide bloggers,

So here is my outfit from Saturday night. I know I haven't been posting many outfit pics but I'm usually running so late, I end up having no time.

This mirror also needs to be cleaned properly, haha. Anyhow, I was dressed in pastel colours - Wearing Forever New paper bag pants, Forever New white body suit, Supre floral pull over shrug and pink nude Louboutins. These days I'm not accessorizing much because of the running late factor (not good!!)
My make up was more or less the same as always, I had used a shiny pink Mac paint pot, and a bit of light gold as a high lighter (very slightly), black eyeliner with a point, white eyeliner inside, Fafi Mac blush in bright pink (I'll have to check the exact names) and pink lips - this is a Body Shop shade. I also curled my hair using a thin GHD.

Now I shall call it a night!!

Cinderella's Louboutins

Christian Louboutin will reinvent Cinderella's 'glass' slipper!! So psyched to see what the outcome will be like... it's to celebrate the rerelease of Cinderella on DVD. I was just thinking the other day whilst watching a trailer for Madagascar 3, that Disney cartoons are just not the same anymore. Cinderella is one of my all time fav ones. Dying to see what Sir Louboutin will do with these. He may not make the most comfortable shoes but he certainly makes some of the most gorgeous ones. I think most ladies will agree when I say that beauty is painful, so down a pain killer and put those 6 inch heels on!!

Pond's Face Wash Range

Prior to the event we got sent this Jafferjees travel make up kit, filled with Pond's face washes and a flawless white cream. View the pictures below to see what exactly we received, and see if you can spot nosy Tumtums...

The new range is the 'Pond's Clear Balance' for all different skin types - it includes; No Blackheads, Oil Control, Clear Solutions, Smooth Pores and Pond's White Beauty. In the kit we also received; Age Miracle face wash, Gold Radiance (both of these are good to prevent aging), Flawless White and Flawless White Naturals Exfoliating Foam. These four are part of the 'Premium' Range.

I will summarize what each face wash is made to do:

No Blackheads: Said to reduce blackheads in 7 days. Contains volcanic clay which sticks to blackheads and drags them out. Can't wait to try this one.

Oil Control: Gives an oil free look for up to 12 hours (perfect for summers in Asia!!). Contains mineral clay which acts as a sponge sucking up all oil and make up from the skin.

Clear Solutions: Is great for clearing up acne, and is said to remove 99% of pimple bacteria - no allergic reaction to any of the products by the way, because they are all hypoallergenic. Contains herbal clay and Neem plant extracts and can be used up to 3 times a day.

White Beauty: is to remove the tan and reveal the skins natural fairness - enriched in pro vitamin B-3 which helps remove the dead cells, and give the skin a pinky white glow.

And from the Premium Range:

Age Miracle: A regenerating cleanser which helps fight aging. It is to be noted that these products cannot remove the aging that has already taken place, but can prevent the skin from aging further. Most people expect miracles but unfortunately miracles are not possible without going under the knife and paying packets for a good result.

Gold Radiance: This is infused with real gold particles which exfoliate the skin gently for a luminous glow!! I really want to try this as well, even though it is best for older skin.

Flawless White Naturals: Contains camellia leaf extracts, and penetrates the skin deeply to rid of dirt and oil. Can be used twice a day.

Flawless White: Good for clearing out spots and blemishes, in turn giving your skin white radiance. Said to give the skin natural fairness in just 7 days.

Based on this information, you should be able to pick what you think is best suited for your skin type.

The White beauty range is doing very well in this part of the world where whitening products are in great demand - though I personally am not part of the whitening craze, I have been trying both the White Beauty face wash and the day cream, both feel light and nice on the skin. I can see my skin is very bright, though I don't have bad skin it really does freshen the face up. I'd like to point out that I dislike thick moisturizers and the Pond's Flawless White cream is very smooth on the face, it isn't a cakey layer of hinderance and I would certainly recommend using it (I am not one to give biased opinions.) I would also like to add, a lot of my friends were raving about this moisturizer, and I had intended on going out and buying it but before I got around to doing so, these products arrived at my door step. A big thank you to the Pond's team, for all your hard work in arranging this fabulous event and really looking into every single detail surrounding it.

Stay tuned for a picture filled post of the Pond's Face Wash Launch/Bloggers Event...

Featured In Pose!

I just stumbled across across this scan (more like picture) of the feature in Pose magazine, Dubai from a while back, so thought I'd share. I always seem to get puffy eye bags and am continuously on the look out to try new creams to prevent them from becoming worse :))

I love L'Occitane products and have a box full of heavenly bath products I got for my birthday that I've yet to use.

Astrotrends: Style & Astrology

Since I can remember the first thing I would do when I would get a magazine would be to skip through to the horoscope's section to see what my month would be like. I think astrology is very interesting, and I do seem to judge peoples compatibility with me based on our star signs - although of course this doesn't always prove true (as astrology is far more complex than that and a thorough reading would require timings, place of birth etc), but it is fun nonetheless!!

A very dear family friend based in Toronto, Canada is an astrologer by the name of Hassan Jaffer, he makes charts for a lot of famous celebrities and designers. He made me one when I was about 16 and I was psyched. Check out his website here: www.astrotrends.net

Love the quote on the main page:

When Hassan Uncle heard I was fashion blogging he sent me this really interesting link about one of his newer projects. It is something I don't believe I have ever come across before, so I am quite amazed. In a nutshell it tells you about your Venus position. You can find your Venus position by entering your birthdate in the interp section on this page: http://www.astrotrends.net/venus/index. My Venus is in Virgo. Once you find out what position your Venus is in you can then click on the menu on the left to get a summary. This summary can give you great tips as to what colour you should wear on what day and it includes style tips for both men and women.

It even goes as far to say what tie colours should be worn for each Venus position.

You can order a proper chart provided on the website above and also on the link below.

Here is mine:
http://astrotrends.net/venus/venus-in-virgo  (Click on the menu on the left to find your Venus position)

Venus in Virgo Colours

Classic, minimalist styles in mostly neutral hues, with no frills or ruffles. Natural material and fabric, pure cotton, sober tones, black and olive green, sliver accessories as opposed to gold. Often black (yes they prefer sad songs!) and very little makeup. Safari jackets. Those with Venus in Virgo can be somewhat shy in love. They enjoy natural skin care products and are good in modelling.
(I do love love sad songs, pure fabrics, natural skin products but I don't know about little make up hehehe)
You can also enter your birth date to get a more personalized interpretation:

Sun 13°Vi22:
You are very practical in most situations and have a lot of common sense. You are also quite efficient and productive but tend to worry too much, are self-critical and modest about your accomplishments. Try to change self-pity into compassion.
Moon 25°Aq53:
You have a cool, scintillating quality and respond more to affection than passion. One parent usually original but erratic. You express your feelings in unemotional ways. Careful of spine and circulation problems. Manipulative but concerned for society.
Mercury 28°Vi14:
You are a logical, efficient, analytical and practical thinker but can be too critical. You have versatility in art, music, writing, accounting and editing but need more confidence and originality. Often singing and literary talents. Perfectionist.
Venus 17°Vi15:
In love, you are very selective, critical, caring but also non- demonstrative. Once involved, you put up with a lot in relationships. Excellent for fine arts, music, dancing and any service oriented profession. You like natural materials in clothing.
Mars 09°Vi20:
You are very conscious of health and nutrition, and will in fact be instrumental in making others give up any negative habits. Just make sure you are not seen as nagging others too much! Need to be careful of toxins and bladder area problems. Athletic.

Backstage Pictures FPW'12 - O'Shoot Photography

Hellooo worldwideweb,

I have been so so insanely busy the past couple of days that I have neglected my blog - I have a few very exciting projects coming up that I can't wait to share with you all!!!

Mutahir Mahmood from O'Shoot (Original Shoot) Photography was kind enough to share some pictures that really summed up the ambiance backstage at Fashion Pakistan Week 2012.

Such intensity captured in the eyes!
How stunning is the shot above? Right before walking on to the ramp.

What lovely compositions and great moments captured.

Pond's Beauty Bloggers Event

I have been invited to review Pond's products at a beauty bloggers event on Wednesday the 25th of Apri. We are scheduled to meet for lunch at 12 30 pm and then proceed to be pampered at the Pond's headquarters. Should be fun!!

I received the invitation in the mail:

I love the hand written name tag, always gives a touch of personalization which I feel is an important aspect of communication services. As you can see we received an invite in a box of delicious Lals chocolates. (www.lalschocolates.com)
Pond's skin/beauty products are classic, despite the competition and all the new products being developed these days Pond's has created such a strong brand name for themselves (dating back to the 1800's(!!!) with their cold cream) that as a consumer you know you cannot go wrong with their products!! Pond's has a very interesting marketing history, they were one of the first brand names to market their products using celebrities in the early 1900's!

Ensemble Du Jour: Shiny Jumpsuit

I was in a bit of a rush last night hence the quality of pictures..

I wore: Sheike army green jumpsuit, it's shiny so it looks a little more bronzey in the pictures, I wore a wrap around belt that came with a Massimo Dutti cardigan, Dotti blazer, Christian Louboutin Simples (my favouritest pair of shoes), Brian Atwood envelope clutch.
Make up was the same as yesterday, except no brown eyeshadow on the lower lash line, extended eyeliner line, less bronzer - more pink on the cheeks, more shimmer under the eyes, and a bright corally pink lip colour (Bobbi Brown - calypso coral pot and shade no 6 of the lipstick - called rose)
OPI Cajun Shrimp nails.

Ensemble Du Jour: Leopard Print

Last night I wore high waisted jeans, with a Sheike one shoulder white top with braid detailing, Cotton On blazer and Miu Miu heels. I have a massive thing for blazers and have a huge collection. My make up was nude eyes with black eyeliner, blush/bronzer/shimmer combo (Mac, Sephora, Smashbox), Rimmel white eyeliner and a bright red Dior lipstick.

PS - The YSL nail polish is truly fantastic, it hasn't even chipped. Though, I changed it today.

Ensemble Du Jour...

Hello world,

Am having quite a busy day today, so just a quick post about my outfit du jour:

Excuse the rather sleepy look, haha. I am wearing an Asos shirt, Khaadi tights and Armani flats. So I love printed tights and was delighted to see the variety at Khaadi. There are so many bright coloured, fun prints and they are very reasonably priced. I've bought 2 so far. They're priced at Rs.1100-1200.
How cool are these though? They have Rs.1, 2, 5 and 10 coins printed on them. Luvluvluv.

Tumtums wanted to pose with me so he's in one of the pictures. Isn't he the little cutest thing ever? Poor little soul hasn't been feeling so well, has got some kind of a bug and is on medication.
