Event: Toni&Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe Professional Range Launch

Hi all,

I come bearing exclusive pictures of a really fun event that I attended last night hosted by Unilever. Toni&Guy builds on a unique platform - which, might I add, no other brand has ventured towards yet with 'Hair Meet Wardrobe' - the concept is that hair should be incorporated with the outfit worn, and it should be easy to wear different hairstyles, just as easy it is to change your outfit - playing on this idea, the T&G professional range, has 3 different categories of products that are launched in Pakistan fitting under the 'Casual, Classic or Glamour' umbrella, these products and tutorials available online can help you style your hair according to the most sought after hairstyles that are trending on runways at the moment.

Accompanying the launch, the global hair ambassador, Mark Hampton was present - I actually met him earlier in the day and am very excited to share the interview with you all, but that I will post a little later. Feeha Jamshed is the local brand ambassador for the T&G Style Collective in Pakistan. Other members of the style collective that were introduced last night are; blogger: Meher Tareen, stylists: Raana Khan, Maha Burney and photographer: Nadir Firoz Khan.

For now, here are some fun pictures from the event, which was attended by many fashion/beauty journalists, bloggers, fashionistas and other key personalities from the fashion industry.

The highlight of the night was definitely the table which transformed into a runway, showcasing the hairstyles created by Mark Hampton paired with Feeha's couture pieces for Hair Meet Wardrobe, Pakistan.

Best Dressed: The Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2013

Let’s take a closer look at the stars that shone the brightest!

Elizabeth Banks looked gorgeous in an Alexander McQueen gown and a honeycomb McQueen clutch! Minimal jewels have been adorned because this gown made enough of a statement on its own!! Love women that embrace colour (and prints) - so totally feeling this look. Love the tortoise belt
and the not-so-traditional hair do!
Amy Adams looked classy in a silver fringed Oscar De La Renta dress. This is a prime example on how a women should dress for their body type - this gown is extremely flattering on Amy. The clenched waist accentuates her waistline and her pulled back hair gives the whole look an elegant feel.
She is also rocking the metallic trend, which can be quick tricky.
Miranda Kerr was an absolute vision in Valentino – but then again does she ever look bad? She looks totally flawless from head to toe. Love the sheer sexiness of the dress.. quite literally!! As well as the subtle embellishments on the dress.  Miranda’s bright lips add colour to the look, and her old Hollywood style hair adds an air of grace - like she has stepped off a red carpet from the 1920’s. Beautiful!
Jennifer Lawrence looked divine in a metallic two tone Calvin Klein dress with a chic pulled back hair do. Once again, this is a prime example of metallic pulled off beautifully.  Love the silhouette of the dress and how it is figure-hugging in all the right spots.
Lily Collins chose a dazzling Zuhair Murad couture dress for the event. Love the midnight blue sequins against her pale skin and her sleek pulled back hair, thick brows, nude lip and sapphire drop earrings. If you are noticing, the trend is certainly pointing towards an emphasized waist – gone is the trend where you’re falling over in an excess of fabric. We are in awe of the form flattering look! We must add, we love how Zuhair plays with risqué lace, if worn correctly the outcome is so classy! (Hint hint Kirsten Stewart!).
Kate Bosworth looked exquisite in a short, heavily embellished Giambattista Valli dress – loving the pastel colour palette  with the mint green and soft pink contrasted by a deep pink lip and a braided up-do!
Zoe Saldana opted for a classic black Givenchy dress – she definitely pulled off the look well, because we don’t think many people can wear this particular dress in the manner she has, especially with the peplum waist and the frill at the bottom. The red lip really adds to the classic look.
Minnie Driver sparkled in a Johanna Johnson form fitting sequined dress with a plunging neckline and a slight trail. We think she looks radiant; however we might have picked a different coloured clutch! Love her pulled back hair do.
Marisa Tomei pulled off a very daring look in a Valentino jumpsuit, we rarely see jumpsuits at such events, we think Marisa has pulled off the look flawlessly. Love her voluminous loose curls and subtle make up. Very glamorous Marisa!!!
Midnight blue was certainly the colour of the night! You cannot get your eyes of Maria Sharapova in an Amanda Wakeley Demi couture gown. The gold embellishments on the bust are divine and we love how she has accessorized with gold cuffs on both wrists. Her middle parting is spot on and she
reminds us of a modern day Cleopatra.
We could not leave out Tom Ford off our 'best dressed' list - he looked exceptionally handsome in a double breasted blazer and a bow tie and a floral broach and white pocket square.
Rose Byrne looked gorgeous in Lanvin, love the cut outs and high slit in the front, she carried a Swarovski clutch and work diamond and pearl drop earrings with very high pumps. We love this look. She is an absolute vision in white!!!  Doesn’t she help prove that you can never go wrong with white?

Lust List: Luscious Cosmetics Designer Nail Polish Collaboration!

Wow!! If you have been following my blog, you know that I love my nail-polishes and my nails are almost always painted! Luscious is one of my favourite local cosmetic brands and they have come up with a ground-breaking collaboration with 14 of the hottest, most talented, local designers; each designer has their own signature shade for S/S 13! This is to celebrate Luscious' 5th anniversary. The campaign is called "Luscious Loves Fashion". What a superb idea. OPI does a lot of collaborations but to see a local twist on this phenomenon is truly amazing.

I have tried Luscious nail polishes before and they are great. Cannot wait to get my hands on some (or all) of these fabulous shades!!

What shade is your favourite?

Event: Garnier BB Brunch

On the 20th of February 2013, Garnier hosted a brunch at Cafe Flo to introduce their new BB cream.

Now, you may ask what a BB cream is; well, it all started in Korea - basically, it is a 'blemish balm' (hence the 'BB') and is an all in one facial cream to replace the use of sunblock, foundation, concealer, moisturiser and so on. It is like a tinted moisturiser - and has to be applied in a similar manner as well. Garnier's angle on the BB cream, however, is that it is a "30 second miracle skin perfecter" - so for women that want a flawless look and are on the go, you just have to apply this cream, and instantly it will give you a smooth, flawless finish! Tempting, right?

Unfortunately, I was unable to make it to the brunch, but the brunch was hosted by Musharaf Hai, and the attendees included Juggun Kazim, who is the brands spokesperson, Faisal Khilji; one of Karachi's leading dermatologists, Nighat Misbah and other well known personalities/journalists/bloggers.

The BB cream will hit stores locally by the end of March 2013. Till then, here are some pictures from the event:

Juggun Kazim looking radiant, she is the brands spokesperson.

Oscars 2013: Best Dressed

Here are the top 5 women that really stood out for me (in no particular order) - talk about looking chic from head to toe!!

Naomi Watts is really rocking the metallic trend in this pewter coloured Armani Prive gown. Perfection.
Amanda Seyfried really took my breath away in a custom made Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton... the messy up do seems to be the 'IT' look when it comes to hair.
Olivia Munn in a beautiful Marchesa gown, love the trail and her deep red lips!! Sigh!! Also like the fact that shes accessorised with gold earrings - this is rare sight!
Salma Hayek NEVER fails to impress. Love her in her velvet McQueen gown and gold McQueen clutch. Epitome of perfection.
Zoe Saldana in a stunning Alexis Mabille gown.

What do you think? Who looked best in your opinion?
